Vote for Events for Namuwongo in The Charity Film Awards!
Events for Namuwongo (EFN) was established in September 2011 by Events Industry leaders at the Global Event Summit who decided to create an industry cause. Led by Chris Hughes (Brand Events) as Chairman and Trevor Foley (tfconnect) as CEO of the charity, EFN has raised over £900,000 – an absolutely brilliant contribution – that has meant huge improvements to the basic living conditions of the estimated 20,000 people in the slum community of Namuwongo in Uganda.
The last 12 months have seen further improvements to the quality of lives and standards of education for the children in our adopted community, as well as essential support for the maintenance of key projects that our industry’s generosity made possible in the first place, such as installing toilets and recycling centres, and clearing rubbish. This is due in no short part to the incredible contributions made by EFN patron companies who contributed over £50,000 in 2018/19 alone.
A special thanks to EFN’s Patron companies:

Together, we are transforming the lives of thousands of people in Namuwongo and, as an industry, we should be hugely proud of what we’ve done!
EFN in the Charity Film Awards!
Our industry friend, Simon Burton, encouraged us to enter our latest EFN video into The Charity Film Awards. These awards celebrate the success of film in fundraising and aim to demonstrate that a charitable video has the power to move, to warm hearts, to inspire, to engage….to change the world.
Please have a look at our video below, “Events for Namuwongo – The Work”.
We need your help to make it to the Judges’ Vote in Round 2!
Voting for winning an award simply comes from the community served by the film, so we encourage you to watch and share the video to remind yourself and others of the incredible work we are doing… and to cast your vote for EFN to win in The Charity Film Awards!
Click here to vote for “Events for Namuwongo – The Work”.
Voting is open now through December 14th.
At the last awards, 60,000 members of the public voted for charity films and nearly 10% of those who voted also made a donation – not to mention the millions of shares across social media. This is an excellent chance for us to help EFN connect with a wider audience and raise awareness (and funds!) for our friends in the community of Namuwongo.
The work continues…watch this space for new plans coming in early 2019!
