tfconnect’s Christmas Party at the Olympic Park

Thanks to the superb hospitality of Peter Tudor, Director of Visitor Services, and his team at the London Legacy Development Corporation, tfconnect held its belated ‘Christmas do’ at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the January sunshine. We invited clients for a day of fun, education and a thorough test of their g-force tolerance on the world’s longest, fastest tunnel slide…

A little-known gem of an event space in the city

For 4 ½ years the London Legacy Development Corporation have been redeveloping the Park, creating re-purposed venues, event infrastructure, residential & retail areas and more besides. However, communicating their offerings has played ‘second fiddle’ to the heavy development work!

tfconnect has heard much industry talk about London being short on event space and so a recent meeting between Peter Tudor and Trevor Foley led to a very fascinating ‘FAM’ trip, giving organisers the chance to see the park’s potential.

Testing our guests’ mettle

Apart from a tour around the London Aquatics Centre, Copper Box Arena, Here East and Lee Valley VeloPark – all of which feature event space – the London Legacy Development Corporation treated tfconnect’s guests to the experience of plummeting down the ArcelorMittal Orbit slide and an hour spinning round the velodrome!

Not only did all survive, they agreed it was a great experiential day. Unsurprisingly, many drew many ideas for all kinds of events, including corporate hospitality.

You may have ideas of your own and we do encourage you to take a look for yourself. In fact, following the trip, the London Legacy Development Corporation events team sent tfconnect a tender document for a proposed food sector event in the Summer.
