Endurance for Namuwongo – Recent Fundraising Challenges
80 Miles in 24 Hours for Michael Seaman
In a test of supreme stamina, Michael Seaman – Raccoon Events recently competed in a 24 hour endurance race in which he managed to cover an amazing 80 miles! Although just shy of his 100-mile target, the result is certainly nothing to be sniffed at – reading Michael’s blog drives home just how incredible his achievement is.
“I felt like my feet were covered in blisters”
Michael tells a tale (more like a horror story) of what happened as his body began to reject the notion of running for an entire calendar day, how his legs gave out and he became mildly hypothermic. Ultimately it was the support of his wife that got him through the final 7.5 hours of his journey. You can read the full story here.
So far, Michael has raised more than £1,500 for Events for Namuwongo as a result of his endurance test. If you feel in any way inspired by his commitment to the cause, please do contribute to his fundraising page here, any amount would be appreciated.
Super Silverstone Cycling
At an event conceived and organised last month by Silverstone’s PR agency, Exposure Communications, Silverstone invited five teams of five people to compete in the inaugural Events Industry Cyclathon.
This charity event, brilliantly hosted in the Silverstone Wing, challenged the five teams to cycle as many laps of the GP circuit as possible in under three hours!
The result doesn’t matter (especially as ‘Team tfconnect didn’t win). However, we did raise £1000 for Events for Namuwongo and Silverstone have declared that they would like to run a bigger event next year!
The photos are excellent and showcase the circuit in all its glory – take a look at the gallery.
